Progress Update

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

I’ve been continuing work on the in-game part of RTB4. I’ve had to spend some time doing a bit of framework stuff which is largely uninteresting. I’m working on finalising the chat window design for the chat client. I’ve decided to ditch tabbed chat windows for the moment because they’re just a pain to implement nicely.

I’ve implemented the “is typing a message” statuses and I’m working on getting some nice emoticons to use for the chat. The font size is 12px and most emoticons are 16px or larger so I’ve got someone doing some custom ones for us.

Mostly it’s just tidying up the code and interface for the beta now. There are a few more issues with usability that I want to fix and then we’re ready to go. I want to stress that the beta will be very basic - the initial download will only contain the chat client and nothing else. I’ll gradually re-integrate features in future betas.

RTB v3.3

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

RTB v3.3 has been released. I honestly can’t remember what I’ve changed since v3.2 since it’s been such a long time, but there are lots of bug fixes.

The main new feature is the add-on grouping. This can be accessed either via Start a Server > Add-Ons (the Groups button) or by clicking the “Groups” tab in the Your Mods section of the Mod Manager. Grouping allows you to create a group which contains specific add-ons and you can then enable/disable these groups from the Add-Ons menu as usual.

Just restart/open Blockland to get the update.

You can post any bugs/issues/questions in this thread or on our forums.

So RTB 3.2 is out and you can grab this off the auto-updater when you start up Blockland. Here’s the list of changes:

I’m glad to say the release went smoothly and everyone is now enjoying the bug-free RTB 3.2. Comments that suggest otherwise will be deleted.

RTB 2.03

Monday, March 16th, 2009

RTB 2.03 is now available if you’ve updated to Blockland v11. Basically this update is to fix a thing in v11 that breaks RTB 2.02. I’ve also added a few fixes in for a couple of things, here’s the changelog:

- Modified joinServerGui to work with v11

- Fixed isReadOnly being used improperly

- RTB now auto-generates a default colorset.txt if you don’t have one

- Fixed the bug where you can’t see the files you download

RTB should auto-update when you run the game with v11. If it gives you any errors, as usual just head over to the Download section at the top to grab it manually.

RTB 2.02

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

RTB 2.02 is now available on the auto-updater, just open Blockland to get it. This update is another bug fix and addresses issues like the notorious IRC user list problems, and a few less obvious bugs that were causing some issues. You can view the changelog in-game or by visiting the RTB thread in the Blockland Add-Ons forum. If the auto-update doesn’t work for any reason, just use the downloads link at the top of this page and grab it manually.
